Josh Snyder, representing the Seguin Economic Development Corporation, asked the court to authorize a resolution permitting the EDC to make an eligible project expenditure in Guadalupe County as part of efforts to recruit a Texas State Technical College campus. "So again, before you today is a resolution...authorizing the SEDC to make an eligible project expenditure within Guadalupe County," Snyder said, describing a 138‑acre site in the city of Seguin's extraterritorial jurisdiction near Highway 46 and Cordova Road.
Snyder said the EDC plans to execute a one‑year option contract (with two possible six‑month extensions) to secure exclusivity while TSTC evaluates site feasibility. Commissioners discussed who will pay the option fee (Snyder said the SEDC will), and one attendee who identified themselves as an SEDC board member said they would abstain from the vote; the court approved the resolution.
