County readies TAD grant pre-application to support diversion services as treatment court ends

Dr. Phil Golley briefed the council on the TAD (Treatment Alternatives and Diversion) grant timeline and planning. He said the TAD pre-application is due July 2, with a full application expected in the fall, and the county plans to request funding to maintain the diversion program and to support a case management specialist and a data-entry specialist.
Golley said that after the judges' decision to wind down the adult treatment court, the county discussed alternatives with the Department of Justice and a TAD representative. "What we've outlined at this point is for the funding for the diversion program to continue," Golley said. He noted DOJ recommended pairing justice-support services with behavioral health programs so clients previously served by the adult treatment court can continue to receive coordinated services. Council members were invited to provide feedback as the application is developed.
