Commissioners approve airport masterplan update and lock replacement, question rising costs
Summary
The board authorized up to $200,000 for an airport masterplan (county share $5,000) and approved a contract to install a new lock system; Chair Keim said she is concerned the airport's costs do not benefit the entire county because of its location.

The commissioners authorized Airport Supervisor Tony Carter to update the airport masterplan with a contract not to exceed $200,000, with Oxford County contributing $5,000 toward the work. Carter said a market analysis will be included in the masterplan. The board also authorized contracting to install a new lock system at the airport and authorized Carter to issue an RFQ for paving projects in the Unorganized Territory.
Commissioner Lisa Keim voiced concern about rising airport costs and questioned whether the airport benefits the entire county given its location. Airport work authorized at the meeting is limited in scope by the dollar cap for the masterplan and the county's stated $5,000 contribution; the minutes do not record further operational subsidies or a long-term funding commitment.
