Doniphan County Health Department announces retirement after 44 years; internal replacement named

Health Department Administrator Chantal Wilburn announced at the July 6 Doniphan County commission meeting that longtime employee Cathi Floyd will retire effective December 31, 2026 after 44 years of service to the department. Wilburn told the board the position will be filled from within by Home Health Aide Heather Slater.
Wilburn said Slater’s current home health aide duties will be reallocated among other aides in the department. Commissioners thanked Floyd for her long service during the meeting; no personnel votes or outside hiring steps were recorded in the minutes.
