Krista Eylar, CEO of KANZA Mental Health and Guidance Center, presented the proposed 2026 mental-health services contract and asked the Board to consider a $44,200 request for the 2027 county budget. She reviewed caseload summary data for Doniphan County clients and described program needs tied to those caseloads.
Eylar also told the Board that KANZA received a grant award from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment totaling $1,354,975 to partner with Northeast Kansas multi-county health departments to strengthen rural health care. The Board tabled action on the contract and the 2027 budget request to allow county staff to review and prepare the 2027 county budget. The Board subsequently appointed Peggy Libel of Wathena to represent Doniphan County on the KANZA board.
