Aging Director Diana Johnson told the Doniphan County Commission June 8 that Fiscal Year 2027 grant funding for Federal operating, Federal administration and State operating expenses has been approved, but that no capital funds were awarded to purchase a transportation van. Because the county will not receive capital funds in 2027, the board tabled action on airbag wiring repairs needed for the current 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan transportation van pending further consideration.
Johnson also announced the retirement of Transportation Driver Ron Hodge and said the county will advertise to fill the vacancy. Commissioners took no immediate action to allocate local capital for a replacement van during the meeting.
