County Road and Bridge staff and Rio Verde Engineering reported a sprinkler-induced flood at the landfill bale house during the Jan. 6 meeting that is expected to cost about $150,000 to repair. Eric Sacket of Rio Verde Engineering described the damage and Billy E. Pape said he is meeting the insurance adjuster the same day; Clerk Jessica Elise Rice confirmed an insurance claim has been filed.
The board received the update during departmental reports and did not take immediate funding action at the meeting; the claim filing and adjuster meeting were identified as the next administrative steps. The item remains open pending the insurance evaluation and repair contracting.
