Commissioners elect Lynn Bernard as chair after 3-2 vote

The Board of County Commissioners of Sublette County elected Commissioner Lynn Bernard as chair in a 3-2 vote during the Jan. 6, 2026 meeting. Commissioner David A. Stephens moved to nominate Bernard; Commissioner Douglas Vickrey seconded, and the motion "carried 3-2," with Commissioners Joseph M. Bradley and Samuel Z. White recorded as opposed.
An earlier attempt to nominate Samuel Z. White for chair failed after Commissioner Joseph M. Bradley moved to nominate him and received no second; that motion "failed 2-3." The votes occurred during the opening roll call and organizational motions shortly after the meeting convened at 9:00 a.m.
