County planner requests DEQ septic-permit delegation review; Owl Creek gravel pre-application moves forward

Hot Springs County Planner Les Culliton told commissioners his office has been managing parcel-division requests and compiling state-report materials and asked for a work session to review a proposed Delegation Agreement with the Department of Environmental Quality that would pertain to septic permits. Culliton said he would bring more details and requested commissioner input at a future work session.
Culliton also reported the Land Use Planning Commission received a pre-application for an Owl Creek Gravel Production expansion; that pre-application will move forward to the February meeting. He noted the Natural Resource Planning Committee had decided not to be involved with gravel pits and said work on a county road project and Brownfield work at the old airport remains slow.
