Emergency Management reports PHEP submission and approved SHSP, EMPG grants; training roster announced

Emergency Management Coordinator Sady Mounts updated the board that the county has distributed Emergency Preparedness flip charts to departments and is reviewing the Hot Springs County Emergency Operations Base Plan for later submission to the Board for review.
Mounts said the PHEP (Public Health Emergency Preparedness) budget proposal has been submitted to the state and is awaiting a response; she told commissioners the SHSP and EMPG grants "have been approved and are awaiting signature from the Interim Grant Officer." She also outlined LEPC activities and trainings open to the public, including Bystander CPR, Weather Spotter Training, Stop the Bleed, and N95 mask fit testing.
Commissioner Galovich suggested making 72‑hour survival kits and expanding Stop the Bleed classes; Mounts and staff will incorporate training and outreach planning as grants finalize.
