Maintenance Supervisor John Dorman told the Board that a mechanical failure of the drinking fountain caused a flood in the County Annex building. "An invoice was received for the clean-up," he said, and staff—along with Clerk Becky Kersten and others—worked over the weekend to remove water from the building and are coordinating with insurance to process a claim.
Dorman said he was unsure whether the existing drinking fountain could be repaired and estimated costs between $1,500 and $1,800 for repair or replacement. Public Health Nurse Manager Shawn Mohr reported the Annex flooding required the Public Health office to close for a week; Mohr said staff have since provided Basic Life Support classes for local officers and scheduled additional community classes.
Commissioners asked about repair versus replacement costs and about timelines for other maintenance projects; Dorman also reported parts for the Law Enforcement Center compressor are arriving and, once all parts are on site, the compressor work should take two to three weeks to complete.
