Planning Commission tables Flourish Real Estate wedding venue SUP after cemetery, septic and mapping questions

John Copper described the property's history and the reduced scope of his request, saying he reduced planned activity to smaller elopements and micro-weddings and that the property borders a national park. He pointed to a planned semi-circular drive for accessibility and said parking would be sited on a separate lot and screened from the road. "We are putting up a nice fence and some landscaping around it to maintain its bridal," the applicant said when describing protections for the on-site cemetery and adjacent owners.
Commissioners asked for an updated site map showing exact building setbacks, parking stall dimensions, and the proposed locations for any new well or septic system. Several commissioners requested a site visit; staff and the applicant agreed to provide the requested mapping updates and to schedule a site visit. The commission then voted to table consideration of the Flourish Real Estate SUP to the next meeting so staff can review the updated materials and commissioners can perform an on-site inspection.
Next steps: applicant will provide revised maps marking cemetery, septic and well locations; staff to arrange site visit and carry the item to the commission’s next meeting.
