County information officer previews redesigned Guadalupe County website, launch planned for Nov. 18

Carmen Dava, Guadalupe County’s public information officer, gave commissioners a progress report on the county’s redesigned website and a tentative launch date of Nov. 18. She said departments began preparing content in December 2023, the county migrated material in May–June 2024, and 40 employees received training in September to manage departmental pages. “So here we are in October with a brief update and progress, as well as getting ready to launch next month,” Dava said.
Dava demonstrated site features including an ADA‑friendly responsive layout, a mega menu of county officials and departments, an A‑Z directory, department‑managed pages (animal control, fire and rescue), event calendar with day‑level indicators, emergency pop‑up messaging for cancellations or disaster notices, and quick‑link buttons that can be adjusted via analytics. She asked departments to finalize edits within seven days so the county can publish the migrated content by Nov. 18. Commissioners applauded the cost‑conscious approach and staff training efforts.
