Guadalupe Regional Medical Center presents operations update and 2025 budget highlights

Doctor Lee (GRMC) emphasized the hospital’s community role and utilization figures during a presentation to the commissioners: GRMC reported about 900 staff members, 251 credentialed physicians, roughly 4,000 admissions per year, about 33,000 emergency room visits, 9,800 surgeries and a community benefit total the presenter described as approximately $14,000,000 (about $8M in charity care and $6M in indigent care). “Guadalupe Regional Medical Center is a very strong community benefit,” Dr. Lee said, highlighting the prescription assistance program and planned facility projects.

Robert Haines provided a high-level look at the hospital’s draft 2025 budget and thanked the court for prior county funding support. Haines summarized top-line revenue and expense movements and noted roughly $6 million in capital expenditures set aside to address depreciation and facility maintenance. He told the court the hospital plans to start a new office building project in December, noting a $10,000,000 state contribution identified by local partners.

Commissioners thanked hospital leaders for the presentation and acknowledged the hospital’s role as a city‑county owned facility. No formal county budget action was taken at the meeting; commissioners expressed support and said they would continue to coordinate as the county’s fiscal planning proceeds.
