Lee County approves Unified Development Ordinance tweaks but holds R20 lot-width change

He told the board the changes were primarily intended to address residential growth within the city of Sanford and that roughly 55 unincorporated county parcels would be affected by the R20 change.
Commissioners discussed carve-outs and potential county impacts; one commissioner moved to approve the full package except for the R20-to-RN20 lot-width change, and that motion carried. Thomas said the planning board had recommended approval 6-1 and that the change would not create a seismic shift in county density but would require careful local consideration.
