Trillium tells Lee County commissioners it covers thousands locally and offers mobile crisis, reentry care

Cecilia Pears, regional vice president for Trillium's Southern Region, told the Lee County Board of Commissioners on July 13 that Trillium serves 46 counties and covers about 27 percent of the county—s Medicaid population. "We have staff that are living and working here in Lee County," Pears said, summarizing the plan's local presence.
Pears provided last fiscal-year data: about 104,000 individuals received services through Trillium-paid claims across the catchment area, roughly 63% of those for primary mental-health care, 21% for substance-use treatment and 16% for intellectual and developmental-disability services. In Lee County specifically she said Trillium served "a little over 1,500 individuals" in fiscal year 25 and assigned slightly under 1,500 to the tailored whole-person health plan.
Pears described operational changes intended to improve crisis response and continuity of care: contracting Southeastern Integrated Care as a mobile crisis provider for Lee County, adding reentry care management that begins working up to 90 days before someone is released from jail, and investing in local digital tools and a Life Springs Restoration Center in downtown Sanford. "If someone is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, whether they are a Trillium member or not, they can call our behavioral health crisis line," she said, noting the service can dispatch mobile crisis teams and is available alongside the national 988 line.
Commissioners asked how residents are assigned and whether there are bilingual staff for county outreach; Pears answered that members with enhanced service needs are assigned to Trillium and that the county has a bilingual community liaison, Yaneeris Ramos. Pears also said the state—s child-and-family specialty foster-care plan transition moved roughly 17,000 children to a statewide foster-care plan and that Trillium has responded with crisis-continuum enhancements.
The presentation ended with an invitation to county officials and residents to use Trillium—s member and crisis lines and to participate in regional advisory boards; Pears said she and local staff were available as primary county contacts.
