Consultant: 500 feet of raw-water pipeline in place; reservoir work and plant downsizing underway

Herb White of WW Associates told the Greene County Board of Supervisors on March 24 that the water project is moving forward. "They've laid about 500 feet of line since the last meeting," he said, describing Division 2 (the raw water line from the plant to the reservoir) and Division 3 pump-station preparations, which include dewatering smaller sludge lagoons so the larger lagoon can be emptied and demolished.
White said reservoir drawings are being updated to lower the dam by 6 feet and make related plant improvements and that the county is reducing the plant capacity from 3 million gallons per day (MGD) to 2 MGD as part of value-engineering. He added that the well-site plan for well number 2 was submitted to the planning office to begin the site-plan process and that some construction tasks could be finished by the end of the summer.
