The committee recorded that outdated backup equipment previously housed at COMSEC has been removed. A new Mobile Communications Center (MCC) trailer is being outfitted and is expected to become the county backup once placed in service, possibly in the third quarter of the year. No firm in-service date or funding details were provided in the minutes.
Separately, radio training that had been paused pending dispatch center updates will resume soon. Planning is also underway for a multi-agency law enforcement exercise that will use the radio system’s capabilities; the minutes record the exercise as an item in active planning but do not list participating agencies or a date.
