The Harvey County Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve Conditional Use Permit CUP24-08 for a vehicle business at 133 SW 64th after staff and the applicant described the proposal and recommended conditions. Planning and Zoning and Environmental Director Karen Rothe told the board an anonymous letter opposing the business lacked name or contact information and was therefore not valid. The board applied the county's "Golden Rules" criteria and found the facts met approval standards.
Staff recommended that, if approved, the applicant provide a copy of a dealer's license (if required), maintain liability insurance, limit vehicles on the property to a maximum of four, dispose of oils/fuels/batteries at a hazardous-waste facility, prohibit storage of salvage or junk, and screen dumpsters from view of neighbors and the road. Joni Embree-Meinders moved to approve CUP24-08 with those recommendations; Daryl Regier seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
