Harvey County planners urge township input after road-impact fee outreach

Harvey County planning staff told the Planning & Zoning Advisory Board on Nov. 12 that they have sent letters to all 15 townships seeking feedback on proposed road-impact fees and have received three responses so far. Planning and Zoning and Environmental Director Karen Rothe said, "letters were sent out to all 15 Townships and have received 3 responses." Board members were asked to speak with their townships and collect input before the county adopts any fee.
Discussion at the meeting included at least one township official suggesting a reduced fee. Leland Entz, Richland Township trustee, told the board he "would not be opposed to lowering the Road Impact Fee to $2,000.00," and Chair Justin Stucky suggested a $2,000 fee in the course of considering permit items. Staff did not present final fee figures or a schedule for adoption; further outreach and follow-up were requested before any formal action.
