Interim county planner named; Road & Bridge outlines grading plans as rain returns

The board welcomed Karna Stoddard as Interim County Planner; she told commissioners she has begun organizing, filing and reviewing subdivision applications. Because she is serving in the interim planner role, commissioners agreed the unexpired Planning Commission seat she held should remain vacant until a permanent County Planner is hired.
Road & Bridge Superintendent Chris Stoddard briefed the board on department operations. He said dry conditions had limited the ability to blade roads earlier in the season but that recent moisture allowed crews to resume grading. Stoddard authorized some overtime so crews could take advantage of improved conditions, and he said the department is prepared to begin servicing county vehicles for other departments.
