Commissioners approve training appropriation, intern contracts, equipment conveyance and routine minutes and payroll

At the May 20 meeting the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a set of administrative items affecting training, personnel and equipment.
Auditor Diana Topping presented an Opioid Oversight Committee request to appropriate $13,500 to send up to seven county employees to gang training in Chicago; Commissioner Frank Loop moved to accept the appropriation and the board approved it unanimously. County Attorney Rick Fox presented intern contracts for the prosecutor’s office for Finn Railey and Alec Elrod covering May 19 through Sept. 1, 2025 at $15.00 per hour; commissioners approved those contracts unanimously.
Sheriff Steve Bush described a Conveyance of Equipment Agreement to upgrade fingerprint equipment in the book-in area; the board approved the agreement unanimously. Commissioners also approved the May 6 meeting minutes and payroll/claims and set the next meeting for Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., then adjourned.
These approvals allow training and personnel onboarding to proceed and authorize an equipment upgrade for the Sheriff’s office.
