Commissioners approve routine consent items; residents raise assessment and accessibility concerns

The Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved several consent and calendar items: a road closure for a Jefferson Gardens family reunion on July 6, 2025; a road block at Schupert's Corner for the American Legion Poppy Drive on May 25, 2025 (9 a.m.–1 p.m.); approval of prior meeting minutes; and payroll and claims. Each motion was moved and seconded by commissioners and passed unanimously.
During public comment, P. J. Moore thanked County Engineer Horacio Urieta for his efforts and raised two concerns: that his property assessment rose despite water damage, and that some intersection signs may not comply with county ordinance. Dale Mann asked whether a wheelchair is available in the building for people with mobility issues and referenced a Clark County tax referendum. The board then moved to adjourn; the motion passed unanimously.
