Floyd County commissioners approve slate of 2025 county appointments; two items tabled

During the Jan. 21, 2025 organizational meeting, the Floyd County Board of Commissioners announced and approved multiple annual county appointments for 2025, recording motions and unanimous votes for each listed appointee.

Appointments approved (annual unless otherwise noted) included: Attorney (Rick Fox / Kristi Fox), Service Officer Marti Snyder, ABC Board member Steve Roberts, Community Action of Southern Indiana representative Lamicra Martin, Weights & Measures Steven Ingram, RH Regional Planning Council representative Don Lopp, KIPDA Board representative Jason Sharp, KIPDA Transportation Technical Nick Creevy, Caesars Foundation Board (Al Knable), FC Police Bargaining representative Frank Loop, Regional Housing Committee (Nick Creevy), Youth Shelter representative Jason Sharp, Legacy Foundation finance and general representatives (Bill White, Al Knable), Redevelopment Authority and Redevelopment Commission appointments (names recorded in minutes), River Hills representatives (Jason Sharp, Chris Welch, Lamicra Martin, Jeremy Kramer, Shawn Carruthers), and PTABOA members (David Riley, Marvin Schmidt, Michelle Koetter). Each appointment motion was moved and seconded as recorded and passed unanimously unless noted.

Two items were explicitly moved to table later in the meeting: a second appointment to the City Plan Commission two-mile fringe seat and a Tourism two-year appointment. Where the minutes listed ambiguous or combined names (for example "Rick Fox/Kristi Fox" listed for Attorney), the minutes' wording is quoted as recorded and the appointment was approved as recorded. Several items were deferred for later consideration; the minutes record motions to table for the Economic Development Commission and the Tourism appointment.
