Commissioners approve Highlands Section 2A plat, authorize BEAD support letter
Summary
Floyd County commissioners signed the Highlands Section 2A development agreement and plat after staff confirmed a $1.2 million performance bond; commissioners also authorized a letter of support for a BEAD submittal and allowed the president to sign outside the meeting.
Building & Development Director Nick Creevy told commissioners the Highlands Section 2A Development Agreement and Plat 1573 had a received performance bond for infrastructure of $1,200,000.00; the commission voted to approve the development agreement and plat. Creevy also reported that the last utility will move infrastructure later this month on the Old Vincennes Highlander Point intersection improvement, and that construction on that project is expected to commence at the beginning of March.
Commissioners also approved a letter of support for a BEAD application and authorized Commissioner Al Knable to sign outside the meeting. Creevy said county staff are securing the last five parcels by eminent-domain condemnation for Bridge 51 right-of-way to meet the Sept. 10 letting date; anticipated construction is late this year or early next year.
The motions to approve the plat and to authorize the BEAD support letter passed unanimously.
