Trillium, local nonprofits outline behavioral health services and county-level needs

A Trillium Health representative updated the commission on the regional behavioral-health network and county-level service numbers. The presenter told the board that Bertie County has about 7,200 people with Medicaid and that roughly 569 of those county residents are enrolled in the tailored Medicaid plan Trillium manages. The Trillium representative described programs including crisis lines, mobile units, technology-enabled supports and training for school personnel and first responders.
Two local nonprofits also spoke about expanding services. Daja Jenkins of Beyond the Ordinary described outpatient counseling, substance-use intensive outpatient programming and day treatment services and invited the county to refer residents and partner on outreach; she said the organization offers in-person and telehealth services across neighboring counties. A separate presenter representing Eustace Incorporated described local mental-health outreach, a recent awareness walk and a gala to highlight community caregivers. Commissioners thanked presenters and noted interest in continued collaboration and resource coordination.
