Frank Campana, a Quaker Street resident, used the public-comment period to ask the Select Board to "fully restore the public information of special detail pay pay earned by each individual officer in the annual town reports," saying the line-item had been removed at the union’s request in 2024 and then reinstated in 2025.
Campana told the board he had raised the issue previously and requested his handout be made part of the minutes. He argued that the payments—while sometimes paid by outside entities—are ultimately supported by taxpayers and therefore should be reported: "It is public money... it should be accounted for, as it was reinstated by the complete board." He also asked that any payments by ICE to individual officers be disclosed in the same way.
Board members did not take action during the meeting; Campana said he hoped the matter "doesn't fall by the wayside" and requested the board and union avoid acting as gatekeepers of information. The item was raised during public comment and not scheduled for a vote or further agenda action at this session.
