Taos County corrects two Lodgers Tax awards after administrative printout error

Staff told commissioners that a printing glitch in the Lodgers Tax application printouts omitted a budget line for two applicants, causing the Lodgers Tax Advisory Board to review and award amounts based on incomplete printed totals. After a grantee queried its award, staff audited printouts and application entries and identified a second application with the same omission.
Jessica Stern recommended adjusting the two awards to the amounts applicants actually requested and that had been scored. For example, the American Contract Bridge League District 17 scored above 90% and would have received the full requested amount of $7,610; the Taos Jazz Bebop Society scored 87% and would receive 87% of their requested amount per grant rules. The commission moved and approved the corrections by roll call.
What happens next: staff will adjust distributions to match the corrected awards and continue to review application‑processing printouts to prevent future clerical errors.
