County Assessor Debbi Surratt reported the assessor's office completed 970 transfers for the 2026 tax year, of which 133 were valid sales; the remainder were transfers to related parties, foreclosures or transfers not used to set value. She said field appraisers completed 2,065 regular rotation field reviews and an additional 240 reviews for parcels with construction work in progress. Surratt also reported mailing 334 agricultural affidavits in 2025 with 247 returned and that 1,160 personal-property reporting forms were mailed in November and are due March 1, 2026.
Surratt submitted a personal-property reduction order for $1,455.21 for 2025 and said she will provide further detail in March about valuation changes under the $75,000 market value exemption for personal property. She said she will attend the winter Assessor meeting in Casper to review upcoming legislative proposals and improvements to assessment notices.
