At the July 27 meeting, Town Planner Lauren Rice presented the annexation and initial zoning proposal for 1785 Weld County Road 32, a 0.856‑acre town‑owned parcel used by public works for storage. Rice told trustees the town acquired the property on July 25, 2022, and recommended annexation (Ordinance No. 1114) followed by establishment of Public Facilities zoning (Ordinance No. 1115) to allow continued municipal storage and quasi‑governmental uses.
Rice explained the parcel is currently within unincorporated Weld County and that, as town owner, the governing body may annex eligible property by ordinance. After a short staff presentation and no public comment, trustees voted by roll call to adopt Ordinance No. 1114 (annexation) and Ordinance No. 1115 (initial zoning). Trustee discussion noted the zoning aligns with the town’s comprehensive plan and that annexation will enable the town to formalize public use and maintenance of the site.
Both ordinances passed by unanimous roll call; staff recorded the actions and will proceed with implementation steps noted in the meeting packet.
