"I received clarification on what the sheriff's office would like to purchase with their $100,000 CIP allocation. They would like to purchase 3 used police vehicles," Tyler said.
Tyler told the board that staff recommended appropriating the $100,000 while reserving specific allocations for later discussion. He also reported that raises for sheriff's office employees and a new position were included, with reductions in part-time and overtime budgets elsewhere to compensate. To balance the budget after a small real-estate tax-rate correction, the board agreed to use $200,000 of the fund balance.
A supervisor moved to adopt the FY2026–27 county budget and the board approved the motion by voice vote. Board members praised staff work during the budget process and emphasized collaboration among departments.
