Administrator reports Paradise Lane sale offer withdrawn, new offer received; board votes to enter closed session on personnel and property

The county administrator updated the board on the Paradise Lane property, saying a previously accepted offer was withdrawn by the buyer’s agent after the board’s public hearing; as of the morning of Jan. 6 the county had received another offer. The administrator said any sale would require a new public hearing before acceptance and indicated the board would take up the matter in closed session.
Later in the meeting the county attorney recommended the board convene in closed session pursuant to "2.2 dash 37 11 a 1 and a 3 and a 8" to discuss personnel matters (filling the county administrator position), acquisition and disposition of county-owned property where open discussion could adversely affect the bargaining position, and to consult with legal counsel about specific legal matters relating to property acquisition/disposition. The board moved, seconded and approved the motion by roll call and indicated the meeting would resume at 7 p.m.
"As the board is aware, we held a public hearing last month on potentially selling the Paradise Lane property...the very next day the real estate agent representing the interested party withdrew their offer," the administrator said, and added that staff had received a new offer that will be discussed in closed session.
