Middlesex accepts $60,532.96 PPE grant to outfit volunteer fire departments

The county would contribute a $1,000-per-set match, which staff said is already budgeted.
Dave Layman presented the grant and asked the board to approve acceptance. The board moved to accept the grant and authorized the match, and the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
"I'm not asking for any additional funds," Layman said, noting finance had confirmed the match money was available in the budget. The board thanked staff for bringing grant dollars into the county.
