The Vernonia School District Board unanimously approved an athletic cooperative agreement with Jewell School District that would allow Jewell students to join Vernonia's baseball and softball teams for the 2025 Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) season. Joanie Jones moved to approve the agreement and Amy Cieloha seconded the motion.
The minutes state Jewell is too small to field its own teams, and the co-op enables those students to participate with Vernonia. The motion passed unanimously. The agreement was presented to OSAA for approval as part of 2025 season planning.
