Vernonia board hears financial memo and maintenance update; student body accounts update set for September

At the Aug. 8 meeting the Vernonia School District board received a financial memo from Business Manager Marie Knight; there was no full financial report this month. Knight said the district will provide an update on Student Body Accounts at the Sept. 12 board meeting.
Maintenance Director Mark Brown's written report was provided in advance and Superintendent Jim Helmen updated the board on the Logger Concession Stand project: Brown met with the Stadium Committee and compiled a list of contractors on the project, will follow up with several individuals, and noted work on a door has been completed. The minutes do not include budget numbers or a timetable for completing outstanding facility work.
The board had no questions about the financial memo at the meeting. The Student Body Accounts update at the September meeting will provide the next scheduled financial detail available to the board.
