Associate Planner Daniel Findlay presented the City’s 2025 Community Development activity report and said the total number of land use applications received in 2025 was comparable to 2024. He noted building‑permit counts were not on the published graph and estimated the department processed "about 60 new permits for single‑family homes, the highest seen since before the 2008 recession." Chair Len Goodwin thanked staff and expressed optimism for 2026.
Findlay also clarified that the graph presented covered land use applications only and did not include separate building permit figures; he gave the estimate of roughly 60 new single‑family permits as an off‑chart figure from department records.
