Grant Smith, a Veneta resident at 87975 Pine Street, told the Planning Commission the condition of approval on his subdivision would treat the corner lot at Trinity and Pine as a flag lot and "would force a house to face away from Trinity Street with only a 10-foot setback from Trinity." He asked the Commission to correct the condition without requiring him to file another variance.
Neighbors Bryon and Sandra Pocholec, who live at 25236 Trinity Street and are active in the Trinity Terrace neighborhood watch, echoed concerns about aesthetics, neighborhood consistency and safety if a house were oriented away from Trinity Street. Chair Len Goodwin acknowledged staff had sent an email on Dec. 15 and said he did not wish to prejudge staff recommendations, leaving the matter for Commission consideration and staff follow‑up.
