The commission recorded several construction and erosion-control updates at the June 25 meeting. Tim Eve-Cowles reported that work on the FRS parking lot has begun and that silt sacks were installed following a June 15 site meeting. He also reported that replacement of an old driveway culvert at 88 South Mill River Road was reviewed and determined to be agriculturally exempt while remaining within conservation jurisdiction.
Commissioners also noted communication regarding Deerfield Academy’s new dorm construction and mentioned removal of silt sacks by Academy staff. The commission listed multiple June site visits (e.g., 6/4 Captain Lathrop, 6/11 and 6/15 FRS, 6/15 89 Whately Road enforcement, 6/16 Eaglebrook solar preconstruction, 6/16 dining hall and fields, 6/16 Steam Mill Road septic inspection, 6/23 SunnyDayz where controls were approved for removal except around building B). Staff will continue monitoring site stabilization and erosion-control compliance.
