A board member urged deeper review and a workshop, saying, “I really felt we shoulda had a workshop on this,” and multiple members expressed concern that the packet bundled many substantive edits that were difficult to digest in a single meeting. Staff noted scheduling constraints for July and confirmed the complementary Historic Resources Preservation Board review next week, recommending the August date would allow both staff and board members extra time to examine the draft and use offered office hours.
The package includes dozens of minor and several substantive changes — from clarifying site‑plan thresholds to moving generator rules into mechanical equipment sections — but board members flagged areas where moved or cut text may have dropped qualifying language. After discussion the board made a formal motion to table the ordinance; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously by those present. The ordinance remains on the commission track but will return to the Planning & Zoning Board on Aug. 6 for further consideration.
