Karen Rothe, Harvey County planning and zoning and environmental director, told the Planning & Zoning Advisory Board that letters about proposed road impact fees were sent to all 15 townships and that the office had received only three responses so far. Rothe urged board members to solicit feedback from their townships before the county finalizes any fee changes.
The road impact fee was raised again during consideration of conditional use permits, when Chair Justin Stucky suggested lowering the fee to $2,000 and Richland Township Trustee Leland Entz said he would not oppose that lower amount. The transcript records one applicant and one township official asking for earlier engagement so townships can provide input before a fee is adopted.
