Taos County approves $115,000 change order to shore historic courthouse after water damage

A construction manager described the damage to the southeast and southwest corners and recommended shoring from the ground to the roof line along the affected walls. "It's going to require shoring on those east and west walls from the 1st Floor to the 2nd Floor, from the 2nd Floor to the roof," the manager said, and estimated a change order for approximately $115,000.
Commissioners approved the change order by roll call. Staff said the work is needed to make the building safe for workers and to prevent loss of historic fabric; they will coordinate the change order with the larger courthouse renovation funding and contract adjustments already discussed during the meeting.
