Council approves alternate landscape plan for Studio Rez; developer to pay $12,000 into tree fund

Planning staff explained that six canopy trees along Highway 114 and six parking-area trees cannot be planted because of conflicts with power-line easements and hydrant locations. Planning and Zoning recommended approval of the alternate landscape plan conditioned on a fee-in-lieu payment totaling $12,000 to the town tree fund to offset the reduction in planted trees.
The council discussed the entrance appearance on 114 and accepted shrubs and berming where trees cannot be planted. The motion to approve the site-plan amendment with the fee-in-lieu requirement passed 5–2.
