Taos Veterans Cemetery nearing completion; final walk‑through set for Aug. 21

Richard Sanchez provided a progress update on the Taos Veterans Cemetery project, saying the facility is "functionally done" and that staff have already relocated equipment to the site. Sanchez said a final walk‑through is scheduled for Aug. 21; the contractor will then have 30 days to complete items on a punch list before final acceptance.

Sanchez identified remaining small items including paint touch‑ups, replacement of scratched glass, minor sidewalk repairs where landscaping equipment caused damage, and placement of signage with the Veterans Cemetery name. He said job descriptions and budget items for operations are in place and that training for staff (in coordination with Santa Fe) will be scheduled when appropriate.
