Goshen County places senior service district question on August ballot

The Goshen County Board of County Commissioners voted Feb. 3 to place a senior services district question on the August primary ballot after adopting Resolution 2026-04.
The resolution directs the County Clerk to place this question on the ballot: "Shall the Goshen County Senior Service District Be Established with a maximum levy not to exceed two mills, to be imposed on the taxable property of the District?" Commissioner Justin Burkart moved to adopt the resolution; the motion was seconded and passed. Clerk Mary Feagler confirmed that, should voters approve the proposition, board members for the district would be elected in the November general election.
The measure would authorize a property-tax levy up to two mills if voters approve it. Commissioners did not set a detailed spending plan at the meeting; the resolution only places the formation question before voters. The clerk will carry out the administrative steps required to place the question on the August primary ballot.
