Board discusses student representative, device policy timing and renaming equity committee

On the electronic-device policy, the speaker stated the board must adopt a policy by the end of October with full implementation on Jan. 1; staff have been working on a stronger cell-phone policy and will return it to the board for approval. The board also discussed the equity committee required by state law and decided to name it the "Civic Voices Committee" to emphasize inclusivity and a wider range of community voices.
