Moultonborough police report parking enforcement figures; board approves six department policies

Lieutenant Cavic gave the Moultonborough Police Department update, reporting that "92 violations issued to date totaling just over $5,000; 41 have been paid and 51 remain outstanding," and that many unpaid violations involve out-of-state visitors. He said Long Island Beach accounts for much of the activity and that reminders and potential court follow-up are being considered.
Cavic also said two applicants have passed the physical portion of hiring but are not yet certified and would need academy training and field training before serving independently. The Board reviewed six departmental policies—Duty to Intervene; De-escalation; Domestic Violence; Hostage/Barricaded Subject Incident; Holding Facility; and Mental Health Emergencies—and voted 5-0 to approve them. No additional changes were proposed; Lieutenant Cavic said further policies will be brought forward in the future.
