YMCA and swim team clash over access to Great Mills indoor pool as construction delays continue

"When you put asphalt down, you can't run construction equipment over it," he said, describing why final tasks such as paving, striping and bollard installation must wait until contractors complete other work.
On access, Hill said YMCA staff told him the swim team had requested use of the indoor pool during colder months and that the YMCA offered the team access to the full pool, noting "it's only 6 lanes." YMCA staff reportedly proposed a compromise of using half the pool, which the swim team did not accept, and Hill said the situation "did get nasty," urging all parties to aim to get the facility open for children as soon as possible.
