Commissioner Hill urges public to attend forum; board will hold separate comprehensive-plan hearing

Commissioner Hill opened the meeting by encouraging residents to attend tonight's public forum and by stressing that the Board of County Commissioners will schedule its own public hearing on proposals the planning commission has approved. "We need to let the planning commission finish their job, and then we'll come to the commissioners for another public hearing," he said.

Hill said he has been contacted by constituents who want to know how he will vote on planning matters but that he will not pre-commit. "I'm a wait till I hear everything," he said, adding that the board will set a second hearing specifically on the comprehensive plan at a later date. The remarks framed the board's approach as allowing the planning process to complete before the commissioners take formal action.
