Doniphan County Aging Department changes Wednesday menu after Cyclospora concern; accepts low tire bid and will solicit linoleum bids

Diana Johnson, the county's Aging Administrator, told the commission the senior meal scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026 would change from chef salad to a hamburger meal out of precaution following a Cyclospora illness outbreak linked to lettuce. The board agreed to the temporary menu change.
Johnson presented three bids for four Yokohama Avid Touring tires for the department's 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan: Diamond Fab $699.04; Triple L $681.08; Neumann Services $667.16. Commissioner Wayne Grable moved to accept the low bid from Neumann Services for $667.16; Commissioner Bobby Hall seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Johnson also said the Aging Department will solicit bids to replace the linoleum at the Highland Senior Citizens Center at 102 N. Kirkwood St., Highland, Kansas.
