Council conditionally renews Toadies’ license, sets April 1 deadline to fix patio deviations

The building official told the council she found differences between the approved patio plan and the current site — including additional barriers, advertising banners attached to blocks, a tent structure not on the plan and fixtures attached to a neighbor’s fence — and recommended corrective action. “There’s a few issues going on out there, that don’t represent all this information,” the building official said, noting the patio may exceed the allowable size and that temporary additions should be moved or adjusted. The owner acknowledged past neighbor complaints, described steps already taken (moving a dumpster, planning a new gazebo in spring) and said the business will work with building staff to comply.
Council members agreed to approve Toadies’ renewals and patio permission on the condition the owner makes the required changes and coordinates inspections with the building official before the April 1 deadline. The council discussed moving the temporary gazebo at least 20 feet from the shared fence and addressing barrier placement and advertising attachments as part of the corrective plan.
